Revere Street PRV Station – Winthrop

About this Project:
As part of the Town of Winthrop’s Revere Street PRV Station Improvements Project, a contractor will be renovating the municipality’s facility, which regulates the pressure and flow of drinking water into the community from the MWRA system.

To advance the project, a backup connection with MWRA will be activated and the facility will be temporarily offline. Preliminary work that will support this transition will be performed the week of Monday, February 5, 2024, and should only briefly impact some residents within the Point Shirley area. Additionally, the transition to the backup supply is scheduled to start the week of Monday, February 12, 2024, and last until the end of June 2024.

During this work, residents and businesses may experience some discoloration or slight changes in water pressure. If discolored water occurs, please let faucets run for a short period of time (approximately five to ten minutes) until clarity returns. Loss of water service is not expected.

We apologize for any inconvenience encountered as a result of this project. If you have any questions, please call the Town of Winthrop at (617) 846-1341 or the MWRA at (617) 305-5762.

Schedule:
Starting the week of Monday, February 5, 2024, and continuing through the end of June 2024.
