Massachusetts Water Resources Authority
2003 Report on your Drinking Water - a message from your local water department

LYNNFIELD WATER DISTRICT

Public Water Supply #: 3164001

Thank you for taking the time to review the annual drinking water report provided to you in partnership with the Lynnfield Water District and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). We are pleased to be working with the MWRA in providing information regarding the quality of your drinking water. This annual report provides detailed information on the MWRA’s source reservoirs and the quality of water as determined through federal and state testing guidelines.

Each year, MWRA and local water departments test tap water in homes that are likely to have high lead levels – usually homes with lead service lines or lead solder. The EPA rule requires that 9 out of 10, or 90% of these sampled homes must have lead levels below the Action Level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). For more information on lead and tap water and practical steps you can take to reduce exposure to lead in tap water, please see page 5 and 6 of this report.

We hope that this report provides you with answers to questions regarding your water supply. If you require more information on particular topics, please call our office at 781-598-4223.

Residents are always welcome to attend the monthly Water Commissioner’s board meetings. Other contacts and phone numbers are provided within the report for the MWRA and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Sincerely,
