My Life as a Pipelayer

Image of crane for essay
The lightning flashed
And thunder crashed
I began to fill with tears and sorrow
I knew it was gonna be a bad day at work tomorrow.

Floods can be deadly
They can be rough
To keep my job,
I had to be tough.

Pipes were breaking,
All through the night
It turned the city into
Quite the sight.

I suited up,
And grabbed my team
We knew our mission
We had to be keen.

As we ran
Throughout the chaos,
We worked in the rain
Mother Nature's boss.

The storm wouldn't stop
Neither would I
I quit on my hopes
Of being warm and dry.

We dug up the Earth
And worked as one
We fixed every pipe
And were finally done.

The weather was crazy
It wasn't okay
This is what work is like
With the MWRA.
