and Teachers:

Continuing the tradition, all
non-winning posters entered into the MWRA Contest will be forwarded to the Boston Water & Sewer Commission's Second Chance Poster Contest.

Poster Contest Topic
For the poster contest, students are being asked to create a poster that illustrates the theme of "Water Conservation." Posters will be judged in three grade level categories: K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.

Writing Contest Topic
For the writing contest, students are being asked to write about "What a Clean Boston Harbor Means to Me." Entries will be judged in three grade level categories: 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

Contest Deadline
Entries must be postmarked by Friday, March 11, 2011. Early entries are encouraged.

Required Forms and Labels
Every group of student entries must have a Contest Registration Form and each entry must have a Student Label attached securely to the back of the entry. These are included in this packet and can also be downloaded from the MWRA’s website.

Available Prizes
First prize in each category is a $100.00 gift check, 2nd prize is a $50.00 check, and 3rd prize is a $25.00 check.  In the poster contest there are (3) categories K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.  In the writing contest the (3) categories are 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.  In each of the (6) categories there is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and (3) honorable mention winners.  All winners, including honorable mention winners, are invited with their families to an Awards Ceremony at Deer Island on May 27, 2011.

Who is Eligible to Enter
The contest is open to any student who attends a school located in the MWRA Service Area.
