MWRA Maintenance May Cause Discolored Water in Winchester

On Monday June 17 MWRA has scheduled to restore service to Meter 130, located near 6 Ridge Street in Winchester. MWRA has completed upgrades to this meter for improved water supply to the town of Winchester during the summer. Discolored water is not expected from this activity, but may be possible for 1-2 days following reactivation of the meter. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

If you have any questions, please call Jeff McLaughlin at 617-305-5762, or MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5950.
