Aquatic Invasive Plant Removal at Chestnut Hill Reservoir

Beginning Tuesday, September 18, 2018, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will begin invasive plant removal at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir utilizing a large harvester. A recent survey found the return of two species of concern – Curly-leaf Pondweed and Eurasian Watermilfoil – that need to be removed as soon as possible. The operations are expected to last about two weeks and residents will notice activity on the water.
