MWRA Water Main Maintenance Work May Cause Discolored Water in Watertown

The MWRA will be performing maintenance work on a water main in Weston that may cause discolored water in Watertown during the week of October 11, 2017.

The work is estimated to take 3 days to complete, and may result in a slight change in water pressure or discolored water.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in pipes.  Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used.  Residents should check water clarity before washing any white of lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeff McLaughlin, (617) 305-5762 or MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5860.
