MWRA Pipeline Work May Cause Discolored Water in Marblehead, Peabody, Swampscott, and Saugus

MWRA will be conducting necessary pipeline maintenance at Parkland Avenue in Lynn. Work will begin on October 31 is expected to be completed in two weeks. This project requires the isolation of MWRA water main Section 71. There is a possibility of discolored water in Marblehead, Eastern Peabody, Swampscott, and Eastern Saugus during this isolation

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeff McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762, or MWRA's 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5950.
