MWRA will make necessary repairs to a 48-inch water main in Brookline starting on Monday, October 17, 2016. The project is expected to last approximately five days.

The work may cause temporary water discoloration in parts of the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston (map, PDF). If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeff McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762, or MWRA's 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5950.
