UPDATE April 10, 2012 -- From Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m through Monday, April 16, crews will be working 24/7 to perform pipe jacking work under the roadway. This work will require closure of the breakdown lane and first travel lane on Route 1 Southbound from Spring Street to Ila Road. Update September 19, 2011 -- Controlled blasting is scheduled to begin on Route 1 South on September 21, 2011. Route 1 will be closed in both directions for brief periods of time during blasting. Work will take place between 10:00 PM and 3:00 AM and may continue into the upcoming weeks. The blasting activity will start at the Salvation Army and work toward Walnut Street.
