DEER ISLAND IMPROVEMENT WORK MAY TEMPORARILY LIMIT PUBLIC ACCESS |
|
The MWRA will be continuing a series of maintenance projects at the Deer Island Treatment Plant through July, 2009. The current work includes improvements to the Deer Island security gate. Employees and visitors to the Plant are being re-routed through a temporary gate. MWRA also has upcoming projects over the summer including the razing of the old construction support building and the installation of two, 190-foot wind turbines. The MWRA will maintain as much perimeter access as possible, but space requirements and public safety limit full perimeter access for brief periods. At times this directive will require the public to reverse direction and not complete the full parameter walking path. Signs will be posted along the public access area to direct visitors around the work sites. If you have any questions or would like more information about this project, please contact Tom Lindberg, MWRA Public Affairs by phone at (617) 660-7974 or by e-mail: Tom.Lindberg@mwra.state.ma.us |
