Why does MWRA have some of the best quality, protected drinking water in the country?  Because 70 years ago, our forefathers envisioned this great water system.  Great for us, but at a cost: in 1938, four towns in the Swift River Valley (Dana, Prescott, Greenwich and Endfleld) were in flooded to make way for the Quabbin Reservoir.
